Waiting for a responseDecided to go naked for this journal entry. I'm currently waiting for a response from a company in Hawaii regarding a plexiglass art project.Waiting for a response by bmlortz
The project is a model blimp made out of plexiglass that will be internally lit by LEDs. Yes, a LED lit blimp, or a LED Zeppelin, if you will. There are a lot of amazing LED project at the adafruit website. I hope to add mine to the list. I've worked with plexiglass on my lame little mini-itx project before. I may add a picture of it at some time. I still have the very first small form factor computer that I purchased about 12 years ago, a mini-itx 800mhz unit. Now days i've been amazed by the Intel NUC and Raspberry PI units, not to mention what's being done with cellular and wearables.
Anyway, regarding the blimp project. I suppose a "art-worthy" item I could come up with would be a MP4 video of the model being assembled. This would look like my YouTube post of the Gatling Gun chamber (it's actually a
Whoops!Missed my scheduled journal entry. Decided to submit one of my hobby projects as a deviant art graphic.Whoops! by bmlortz
I've always been fascinated by firearms. So I posted one of the early examples of my "Gatling Gun" project. The concept is a .22 long rifle, 3 barreled gun. Don't worry, I'll most likely never try to put a functional weapon together, I enjoy having all of my fingers, and not having extra holes in my body.
Almost missed this weeks journal...OK, so I noticed that daHub visited my profile. I think that is where all the cool kids hang out.Almost missed this weeks journal... by bmlortz
I've been finishing my uploads to YouTube of my old Starsiege: Tribes recordings. I made a profile on the www.tribalwar.com site and posted links, it seems to have generated some interest.
My Google Plus account continues to rack up visitors, up to 11,000+ now. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. I've generated enough traffic to qualify for my own https://www.googleplus.com/+BruceLortz listing, but I'm not sure if I want to bother doing that.
I've been toying with the idea of submitting some of my short stories to/through this journal system. I'll continue to look around at some of the more writing orientated pages.
This weekend, I've been scratching my gardening itch. Planted corn, basil, artichokes, and cucumber. I also did a lo
How to Commission an ArtistI've been commissioning artists for a little over two years now, starting with site money on GaiaOnline and moving to dA from there. One thing that's hard for me to ignore is the number of artists who are concerned about being scammed, either because they've gone through that experience before or because the stories and warnings of it happening all the time proliferate. Commissioners have their own concerns about being scammed by artists. The simple fact of the matter is that it happens. How to Commission an Artist by ArynChris
However, I think a good portion of the problem is that many people who want to commission an artist have no experience doing so, and it's not as easy to find instructions on it as, say, how to draw anime eyes. That's why I'm making this guide.
It should be noted that while I mention commissioning through other websites now and then, this is meant as to general guide, and all of the examples are from deviantart.com. Also, this does not
